Nationalpark Thy
- ”Denmark's
last wilderness”, as it is called by some, consists of a 24.370 hectare area covering a belt of up to 12 km wide along the West Coast from Agger Tange (bar) in the south to the lighthouse in Hanstholm in the North. The eastern boundary of the park is farm country.
The Park
inclues a unique wealth of nature. Here, you will find the time to explore the fullness of the landscape and have sand between your toes. And time of lots of experiences - both in the nature and in the many other exciting things that the nationalpark can offer.
The area is shaped by centuries of sanddrifts and the nationalpark includes large national and international nature and landscape values in coast, dunes, heath, large lakes and dune plantations - as well as Denmark's largest nature reserve - Hanstholm Vildtreservat.
Nationalpark Thy
is wide open areas, availability, unspoilt areas, quietness and rare types of nature. Additionally, you can experience and exciting and valuable interaction between cultural history and nature which is one of the foundations of Nationalpark Thy.
You can collect folders at the Tourist Offices about the nationalpark and the areas in it.
