Hanstholm

With its location on the edge of Thy, Hanstholm is the epitome of the wild and majestic climate in the western part of region. Until recent times the town was nothing more than a small fishing village, but today Hanstholm is Denmark’s largest consumption harbour and a modern industry- and trade town.

Klitterne ved Hanstholm
Every day between Monday and Friday there are fishing auctions in the large halls at the harbour. You have access to these auctions, but please remember that this is a work setting and therefore you should be considerate of this during the auction.
The international atmosphere that is evident through out Hanstholm is, to a large extent, due to the ferry connections to Norway, the Faroe Islands, the Shetland Islands, Scotland and Iceland.
Hanstholm - Kanonbrønd
In 2002 MuseumCenter Hanstholm opened the doors to its new “information centre”, which is located by the museum air-raid shelter on Molevej. The theme of the exhibition is the Atlantic Wall, which was the line of fortifications constructed by Hitler along the North Sea in the years 1942-45.

Tickets for the MuseumsCenter Hanstholm can be purchased at Thy Turistbureau.
In the indoor shopping centre HanstholmCenter you can find a nice selection of stores and places to eat.
