Nr. Vorupør is the largest and liveliest of the coastal villages in Thy. Here you find sun, sand and water – of course!! But there is also a cornucopia of candle-makers, applied art, boutiques, cafés and restaurants as well as Nordsøakvariet, the North Sea Aquarium, with its new shark tunnel.
Just like Klitmøller, Vorupør is a place for surfers since it is one of the five best windsurfing spots in Europe. If you like the rough North Sea there are also ample opportunities to go for a swim.

Today, Nr. Vorupør is, like the fishing village Lild Strand, one of the few places in Denmark where you can still find coastal fishing. The cutters are pulled up on the beach with a hydraulic winch. On the beach you can find the restored boat Thabor, where you can go aboard and sense the every- day life of a fisherman.

At Vorupør Museum you can, among many things, visit an exhibition of the historic coastal fishing and see how the hydraulic winch works.
