There is a friendly ambience here at the fishermen’s landing place at Stenbjerg beach. The village itself lies sheltered from the westerly storms a little inland.

In the olden days some fishermen’s huts were built around the lifeboat station near the beach, and the place became known as Stenbjerg Landingsplads (Landing Place). Today, Stenbjerg is renowned for its small, characteristic, whitewashed fishermen’s huts.

Every year a festival “The Stenbjeg Day” is arranged with live music in the old houses. The warehouse is cleared to make room for a huge fish buffet with delicious sea-food dishes, and the lifesaving corps demonstrates its equipment. In the lifeboat station a rescue museum has been set up where you can see a life boat from 1892 as well as other lifesaving gear used by the lifesaving corp.
